TTi Delivers National Training Program to Strengthen Economic Empowerment at the National Aid Fund

TTi delivered a specialized Training of Trainers (TOT) program for staff of the National Aid Fund (NAF) – Economic Empowerment Directorate, in collaboration with Oxfam, aimed at strengthening communication and outreach capacities within economic empowerment programs.

The training was designed to enhance staff members’ ability to effectively engage with beneficiaries and encourage greater participation in empowerment programs. By strengthening communication, persuasion, and outreach skills, the program seeks to help reduce drop-out rates and improve the overall impact of empowerment programs implemented by the Fund.

Supporting the Shift from Welfare to Economic Empowerment

A central theme of the training focused on the transition from a traditional “receiving assistance” approach toward a more sustainable economic empowerment model. Participants explored how empowerment programs can support beneficiaries in building long-term livelihoods, moving beyond short-term assistance toward sustainable social and economic development.

Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants examined the challenges that often limit participation in empowerment programs and explored ways to better communicate opportunities to target groups.

Strengthening Communication with Beneficiaries

The program provided participants with practical tools to improve their communication with beneficiaries and present empowerment opportunities more clearly and effectively. Sessions covered topics such as outreach strategies, persuasion techniques, adapting communication styles to different audiences, and explaining program guidelines with clarity and confidence.

Participants also worked through group activities designed to address common misconceptions related to empowerment programs, including concerns about the potential loss of financial assistance when joining such initiatives.

Learning Through Real Experiences

The training incorporated success stories from empowerment program beneficiaries, providing participants with real-life examples of how effective engagement and support can lead to tangible outcomes. These stories helped highlight key factors that contribute to successful empowerment journeys and encouraged participants to share their own field experiences.

Group exercises and discussions also allowed participants to reflect on the challenges they face in their daily work and identify practical solutions to improve beneficiary engagement.

Nationwide Implementation

The training was delivered across three regions of Jordan to ensure broad participation from National Aid Fund branches:

  • Northern Region: Irbid, covering branches across northern Jordan

  • Central Region: Amman, covering branches in the central region

  • Southern Region: Aqaba, covering branches in southern Jordan

This national rollout allowed staff from different regions to exchange experiences and learn from one another while strengthening coordination across the Fund’s empowerment programs.

Strengthening Impact Through Capacity Building

Through this project, TTi continues to support national institutions in strengthening their capacity to design and implement more effective economic empowerment programs. By equipping frontline staff with improved communication tools and practical engagement strategies, the program contributes to building stronger connections with beneficiaries and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities.

TTi remains committed to working with national partners and development organizations to enhance the effectiveness of empowerment programs and support inclusive economic development across Jordan.
